I do not have Pilot2ATC yet but have been reading the Manual. In the manual there is a section on Importing Taxiways and Gates. Does this have to be performed even before using Pilot2ATC for the first time or can it be done after the trial has completed. I want to trial Pilot2ATC under the best circumstances so I want to get everything right.

I would recommend not importing or editing Taxiways or Gates during the trial.  Most major airports have adequate data in the default data that ships with P2A.  It may not be totally accurate, but should work well enough for the trial.
