August 8, 200619 yr When I start FS2004 it takes ages for the program to load. It shows the Daplsh screen & then waits & waits. What is this wait mainly caused by. Is it amount of scenery or Mesh or amount of planes? I have loads of all of them. Would removing some help?
August 8, 200619 yr The more scenery, AI, etc. you add, the longer it takes. I have time to go make a sandwich, or play catch and fetch with the dogs while mine loads. ;) BobK

August 8, 200619 yr You can reduce this somewhat by unchecking the areas you don't normally fly in from the scenery menu (not deleting them), by removing aircraft you aren't currently flying to a folder outside of FS (you can use Flight Sim Manager for this) and by defragmenting the hard drive.
