When I start FS2004 it takes ages for the program to load. It shows the Daplsh screen & then waits & waits. What is this wait mainly caused by. Is it amount of scenery or Mesh or amount of planes? I have loads of all of them. Would removing some help?

The more scenery, AI, etc. you add, the longer it takes. I have time to go make a sandwich, or play catch and fetch with the dogs while mine loads. ;)

You can reduce this somewhat by unchecking the areas you don't normally fly in from the scenery menu (not deleting them), by removing aircraft you aren't currently flying to a folder outside of FS (you can use Flight Sim Manager for this) and by defragmenting the hard drive. Allcott
