Hi,

Does the log first line shows # rxpGtnSim64.dll version 2.5.5.0 too?

Yeah it does

Ok, let's try to further solve this.

Are you comfortable in using regedit?

If so, can you please do the following: you can open the Windows registry by typing regedit in the search tab of the Start Menu in Windows.

1) Click the Windows start menu, type regedit.exe, click on the matching item listed, accept the UAC prompt.

2) Locate the following folder:

"HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Garmin\Trainers"

3) You should read the following entries:

"BootstrapperLocation"="C:\\ProgramData\\Package Cache\\{8cb87890-c33b-4856-9871-ceb55505713a}\\GarminTrainerSetup.exe"
"DataPath"="C:\\ProgramData\\Garmin\\Trainers\\"
"BinPath"="C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Garmin\\Trainers\\"

Q: Can you please report what does it contain on your system?

Hi, thanks for your help with this

In Regedit, there's 5 entries:

(Default) - (Value Not Set)

BinPath - D:\Installs\Garmin\

BootstrapperLocation - C:\ProgramData\Package Cache\{8cb87890-c33b-4856-9871-ceb55505713a}\GarminTrainerSetup.exe

DataPath - C:\ProgramData\Garmin\Trainers\

DBDataPath - D:\Installs\Garmin\Databases\

I just tried installing the garmin trainer directly onto my SSD (C Drive), and it now works, however, my C Drive only has circa 5gb remaining, so if it is possible to have them installed on my D Drive and work, that would be the best outcome.

Yes this is supposed to work this way automatically, otherwise, there are manual overrides available too. This is why I'm asking specifically about these registry values as they determine where to.

I didn't have time to answer before you try reinstalling, however, do you remember which of these had the file "bmap.bin" prior installing to the default location?

1) "C:\ProgramData\Garmin\Trainers\Databases\bmap.bin" (DataPath)

2) "D:\Installs\Garmin\Databases\bmap.bin" (DBDataPath)

Prior your answer, I think we've found the problem: a typo in the code looking for "DataPath" instead of "DBDataPath", hence, the problem. But I'd like your feedback too though.

Hello,

Apologies for the delay in response, I'll uninstall my current trainer and put it back onto my HDD to see find out the info for you

1) "C:\ProgramData\Garmin\Trainers\Databases\bmap.bin" (DataPath)

2) "D:\Installs\Garmin\Databases\bmap.bin" (DBDataPath)

Having just checked now, the file is in the second location, on the D Drive.

Thanks for your help

I thank you for your enduring patience and your help. This confirms the typo in our code indeed.

We're preparing a new update (I know, another one sorry) with the corrections and a strengthen trainer auto-detection.

We'll take the opportunity to also add a couple tweaks and small features along!

Happy to help!
I use the RXP GTN 750 in every plane I fly so it'll be good to have it up and running again with the update!
