No sound on ILS Markers and FIX points

Featured Replies

Hi,

i have all 3 markers to on but when I approach an ILS no sound or light is coming. Second in the 777 you could set the 4 FIX points to a circle of 750 miles. In the 747-8 it seems that 500 miles is the most far setting. is this right ?

I'm not sure what "all three markers on" means because there is only one marker setting on the audio panel, and what aircraft?  Also, it is possible that the ILS doesn't have markers... most of them in the US are gone in real world and most of the ones you find in the scenery shouldn't be there.  What ILS at what airport?

The -8 range circles on the FIX pages is limited to 512 nm.

See also FCOM 5.10.2 for operation of audio panel.

you have in the PMDG 747-8  3 audio frequency panel and on European airports they don't also work

Where can I get the full tutorial for this plane ?

Check on the charts if there are approach markers. At most airports there will be none. Dan didn‘t mean that this obsolescence would be limited to the USA but he can say for sure that in the USA it is a fact. He‘s flying there IRL.

You need to set up properly the Audio Control Panel.

As Dan already said see the 747-8 FCOM manual page 5.10.2. The switch indicated by 10 on this page must be set to MKR and the switch labelled "APP" next to it must be pressed.

You can find the 747-8 FCOM document at  the PMDG\PMDG 747 QOTS II\Flight Manuals folder in your sim (P3D or FSX) directory.
