OP, take a look in your computer's Events Log and see if you can come up with a faulting module for that crash to desktop. It's helpful if it gets you to cool your jets and provide helpful information to those seeking it. I would have thought that would have been obvious. October 14, 20187 yr Author Thats a first time for me, looking at event log. This is one of many. fsx.exe 10.0.61637.0 46fadb14 simprop.dll 10.0.61637.0 46fadb59 c0000005 00006da7 1698 01d463e8cef054f8 D:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\fsx.exe D:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\simprop.dll 10fb8ff8-cfdc-11e8-960b-6805ca26d80f Windows 10 64, ASUS Z590 MB, i5-11600K 4.9 ghz, Samsung 870 1TB, 860 500gb,hynix Gold 1TB SSD's, Corsair LPX 32gb (2x16) DDR4 Memory, EVGA GTX 1070ti, Viewsonic 32"
October 14, 20187 yr Author looks like 14 all the same. Assume that is the number of times I tried to load FSX. Windows 10 64, ASUS Z590 MB, i5-11600K 4.9 ghz, Samsung 870 1TB, 860 500gb,hynix Gold 1TB SSD's, Corsair LPX 32gb (2x16) DDR4 Memory, EVGA GTX 1070ti, Viewsonic 32"
October 14, 20187 yr Administrators OK,simprop.dll error is one of the worst ones I can think of. Is there anything else that you might have done, besides changing the screen resolution (That should not cause errors)? You didn't do anything crazy like trying a Repair option without removing Sp1 and SP2 or Acceleration? Have you looked through the AVSIM CTD guide for help? October 14, 20187 yr Author I was changing resolutions to see if i could notice any difference in the display. That was the only thing I changed. Thanks, I will look at that. Have you added any scenery recently? On startup MSFS and P3D always tries to rebuild scenery indexes. If scenery somewhere is corrupt, it will fail. The only other thing I can suggest, since you changed the display setting, is to go to your config file, back up the original, then remove the display entry. FSX will try to add a new one with default settings which you can later change. John
October 15, 20187 yr Author Thanks, no new scenery, did rebuild the cfg also. In reading dll suggested fix, I noticed the comment about the Logbook. I have tried to locate that file without success. The file name is FSX Logbook Recovery 1.1 Windows 10 64, ASUS Z590 MB, i5-11600K 4.9 ghz, Samsung 870 1TB, 860 500gb,hynix Gold 1TB SSD's, Corsair LPX 32gb (2x16) DDR4 Memory, EVGA GTX 1070ti, Viewsonic 32"
October 15, 20187 yr Author Wow, downloaded the FSX Logbook Recovery ZIP from AVSIM and bingo, all fixed. Thanks for all your help. Windows 10 64, ASUS Z590 MB, i5-11600K 4.9 ghz, Samsung 870 1TB, 860 500gb,hynix Gold 1TB SSD's, Corsair LPX 32gb (2x16) DDR4 Memory, EVGA GTX 1070ti, Viewsonic 32"
October 15, 20187 yr Author After getting FSX back, flew a couple of times and checked the logbook, appears the fix also stopped the logbook from showing anything after 10/9/18.. Not really concerned, do not need the log but wonder if there is a fix.??
