Loss of FPS with window in focus

I have P3Dv4 and latest NVIDIA driver(416.34) and now have large drop in FPS (25% less) and stuttering when the P3Dv4 window is active. If I  mouse click outside the P3Dv4 window (it goes out of focus) the FPS increases and stuttering goes away. This is the same for all PMDG airplanes.

I am on Windows 10 Pro 1803.

Is this a known issue, or is something in my setup?

Very long-standing known issue with the sim itself. Basically, in the VC, the sim needs to be aware of the mouse position in order to understand what you might click on at that moment.

It's not as much to do with the program being in focus, as much as the mouse being in the window. You could, for example, click on the sim window, and then put your mouse cursor down in the system tray (down where the clock is), and you'd see the FPS go up a bit.

I do not belive "my issue" is the "mouse issue". If I switch the 777 cockpit window from non-active(not in focus) to active(in focus) the FPS drops from 40 to 25. This is happening with the mouse pointer out of the window all the time as I am switching with the TAB_ALT key.

Even the sound changes.

Just wondering are you running p3d in full screen mode?

I am running in Windows mode when having this issue. I have now concluded that this is a P3D/Windows/Nvidia issue and not a PMDG issue, as I have the same issue with other airplanes.

I will make a full uninstall of P3Dv4 and all add-ons(airplane and sceneries) and see if I get rid of this issue. I didn't have it earlier, so something has triggered it.

@roarkrI've recently came across the same issue, did you manage to resolve it? If so, how?

Not 100 % , but I believe it is gone now after I

deleted the Shader folder in path

😄/users/"your id"/AppData/Local/Lockheed Martin

and  the Prepar3D.cfg file in path

c:/users/"your id"/AppData/Roaming/Lockheed Martin/Prepar3D v4

Thanks for the answer. I think it also might be connected to Windows Game Mode. You can try Windows + G and then disabling game mode (one of the icons to the right). After I did it, the problem stopped for me.
