747 -8 EFB & DATALINK

Featured Replies

Hey everyone,

First and foremost this is my first ever post so If I've done something wrong, please let me know.

Ok so my question is simple. What are you're recommendations in getting data for the EFB? Any sites as I constantly have trouble with the landing weight and take off weight.

Secondly, in the D LINK FMC once in flight it has an AUTOLAND option (yes or no) - Does that affect my autoland capabilities?

Regards,

Per PMDG Forum rules, you are supposed to sign your post with first and last name.

I believe the AUTOLAND option is like a logbook entry which will be later further expanded upon in Global Flight Ops.

I just push the button that says READ FROM AIRCRAFT.  Of course, this means you have already loaded fuel and payload.  The landing weight will default to the takeoff weight until you go to the fuel screen and enter taxi and trip fuel.  Maybe this is tripping you up.

There is an excellent EFB Manual.

Yeah, at least in the real world it’s used to keep track of when the last autoland was performed as the airplane has to have at least one every 30 days. It’s just for record keeping and has no bearing on anything else. This is part of the Postflight Report that is transmitted after the flight. The same applies to the question as to who landed the aircraft, it’s just for record keeping to make sure everyone stays current.
