Copy of cleared control file

Recommended Posts

I just cleared out all of the control bindings on my P3Dv4.3 getting ready to use FSUIPC and would like to make a copy of the cleared file as a backup.

Can anyone tell me where I can find it?  I have looked in all of the usual places but have yet to find it.

Thanks,

Dale

Dave,

I went there before I posted and all of the files have the original data.

I have the Controls UI cleaned out.  I closed and reopened v4 and even though the UI is empty of bindings the Standard.xml still shows the original bindings.

Yes, because FSX/P3D automatically assigns them if they have been removed.  Think of it like the P3D config file... or shaders. If you remove them, they are rebuilt at the next launch.

Sorry, I thought you were trying to copy the default file/settings, which is what you now have.

Dale, you could try this ...

At the bottom of the control section in P3D UI, you will see an IMPORT and EXPORT menus. Arrange your bindings the way you want them and then, EXPORT it as "Cleared controls" or whatever name you wish.

Next time you want to reset your controls as "cleared", simply import that file and exit the UI using the OK button.

I have 2 sets of controls defined, one for PROPS and another for JETS. After starting P3D, I simply IMPORT the one I need depending of what aircraft I will be flying.

I hope this helps

Edit: By default, this file is saved in your "Documents/Prepa3D v4 Files".

Regards,
