CDI crazy in Carenedo's S550 and GTN 750 (resolved)

Featured Replies

Hi,

I'm not sure if its to the GTN 750 related to this issue, but the CDI goes crazy every time autopilot NAV option is enable and GPS. On the GTN 750 CDI is enable and follows the flight plan, but the HSI is rolling ln every direction with no control.

Cheers

Hi Jaime,

what do you mean with "rolling"? Is it the HSI course rotating around randomly, or, the CDI bar deviation going from left to right erratically?

Yes the HSI course is rotating randomly.

This the URL to see what I mean. Sorry for the bad quality.

Thank you, this explains better!

I don't think this is a bug in our GTN, the code driving the HSI course has been the same since the first version.

I'd suspect they've coded their EFIS in a way which conflicts, probably because they have an auto-slew feature, and our GTN too.

I'd suggest you review the GTN settings and disable "Connect HSI/CRS output".

I'll give it try and share results. Thankyou for your quick response.

Set GPS drives CRS to false and works but have to select coarse manually.

Was working okay before last update, now when I select direct to a airport the helicopter swings left and right chasing the coarse needle in true, large swings of plus 90 degrees.

The code base surrounding this function hasn't changed between 2.5.7 and 2.5.8, but I'll cross-check for anything odd in any case.

Are you sure it is not a side-effect of updating X-Plane 'beta' versions (if this applies to you)?

Also, which trainer do you run, is it the latest 6.50.1 or any previous one?

I have v 6.50. It is normal that the trainer is off? Maybe I'm missing something here.

I'm sorry but I don't understand, your video shows it is on isn't it?

I'm referring to the Garmin trainer directly. I clicked to the power on button and appears in black screen.

It is possible, nevertheless, as long as it works under our control, this is not an issue!

Otherwise, you might want to try out their latest version GTN Trainer 6.50.1 which our latest update v2.5.8 is compatible with.

Using XP11.26, Garmin Teainer 6.50.1 and v2.5.8. Will do more testing to-day.

A bit more testing. As soon as I set connect HSI to CRS the coarse need in HSI starts swinging around as the video above,

Tried with the GNS530 and that works fine. It is the GTN 650/750 that is having the problem.
