September 2, 200619 yr Just wondering if there is any detailed information anywhere as to what the default FSX mesh resolutions are.
September 2, 200619 yr Good question. In the beta i was flying over Asia and the mesh resolution seemed to be only 1km (like FS9 default). I assume that the beta doesnt include all the high detailed mesh yet?Can TDragger confirm this? Surely FSX is using 76m SRTM mesh for most of the world as baseline, with even more detailed mesh in some places eg USA?Surely 76m is baseline??? TDragger?
September 2, 200619 yr FSGlobal 2005 came on 2 DVDs and covered the world in 76M mesh resolution, weighing in at 12.6GB. If the FSX beta is 8.4GB, including quite a bit of data other than mesh, and that size is representative of the gold version, then it is logical that less that half of the FSX world won't have 76M mesh resolution.Gary 9800X3D | 4090 | 64GB | 2+1TB NVME | 2TB SSD | 2TB HDD | 85/50/43” TVs | Quest 3 | DOF H3 Motion Rig | Buttkicker | T.16000M Flight Kit MSFS @ 4K Ultra DLSS Performance FG 80 FPS | VR VDXR Godlike 80Hz SSW | MSFS VR DLSS Quality, Ultra Preset - Windows 11 Acer Nitro 5 | i5-11400H | RTX 3060 6 GB | 32GB DDR4 | 15.6" FHD IPS 144Hz | 2 x 512 GB SSD | Windows 11
September 3, 200619 yr Agreed, unless Microsoft adds in the SRTM 76 mesh at the last minute. I doubt that is the case though. Like previous ver's I am sure there will be different mesh resolutions for different areas, like Ranier, New Guinea, etc.RhettAMD 3700+ powered by Gerbil wheel + gerbil, eVGA 7800GT 256, ASUS A8N-E, PC Power 510 SLI, 2 gigs Corsair TWINX, blah blah, etc. etc. Rhett 7800X3D ♣ 96 GB G.Skill Flare ♣ Gigabyte 4090 ♣ Crucial P5 Plus 2TB
