December 18, 20187 yr I have recently bought Active Sky Next for FSX-SE. Do I need to disable / uninstall any other weather add-ons (or set the FSX default weather engine to 'Clear Skies' or something)? I'm worried about conflicts. Andrew Andrew Gold
December 18, 20187 yr It doesn't matter what you set the default weather to; ASN will override the settings. Just fire ASN up and you're good-to-go. Also, if I may ask, why did you buy ASN and not AS16? The latter is the current rendition and works with FSX SE. Matt King
December 19, 20187 yr Author Thank you kingm56! The reason is simple: I didn't know 😕. Too late now! After your post I looked again at the Active Sky website and I couldn't see mention of AS16 in relation to FSX-SE. I thought it was for P3D. I noted ASXP, which seems to be specific to X-Plane, which I don't use, so didn't consider it. Andrew Edited December 19, 20187 yr by threebears Added information Andrew Gold
December 19, 20187 yr AS16 is for FSX. ASP4 is for P3Dv4. ASXP is for Xplane. I didn't even know ASN was still on sale but it was probably cheaper than AS16 so don't feel too bad Andrew! I always take this opportunity to remind everyone there is a free alternative for all ESP based simulators in the shape of FSXWX because it's not well known as the community seems intent on steering people towards whatever the current trendy payware weather engine is (use to be Opus, it's AS16+ now, maybe it'll be REX WD next?)
