August 13, 200619 yr I put together a video from various views with the Ultralight to show about what I am getting and seeing with fairly my new system. I DO get more frames than what's shown but due to screen capture it slows it down a bit. This is with all categories selected as High.System:ABIT AW8DPentium D 805 (Running at 3.80Ghz)xFx nVidia 7900GT - 256MBMushkin 1GB DDR2 800Creative X-Fi PlatinumVideo Link:http://media.putfile.com/Cracklin-FSXCarmine http://forums.avsim.net/images/wave.gif
August 13, 200619 yr Author Oh Carmine,You make me so jealous. I can't get it that high and still capture video.Very fine movie, and great music. Very fitting.I was considering "Don't Worry, Be Happy" as my first FSX video.
August 13, 200619 yr Author So, I realized I was well overdue for my monthly computer maintainance, so I set into that today. Afterwards, when I was pleased that I was at the peak I could get this guy to run, I tried upping the settings in FSX again.I have noticed that after I exit the game, if I go back in before restarting, AA won't work. So I decided to turn it off, and just deal with the jaggies. I think it's worth it. Also, I went in and edited the cfg file for texture_bandwith_multi or whatever it is to 400, which seems to help a lot.Now I can get everything cranked except autogen, and the traffic tab is all turned off. Water is at 2.x. This is all running at 1024x768x32 in fullscreen with no AA and 16x AF.My old poor rig is as follows:Athlon XP 24001GB DDR 333 in dual channel mode128MB Radeon 9600 PRO300GB SATA2 hddThe 9600 is moderately overclocked and the RAM is on the nForce2 boards "high performance" auto settings, but it doesn't actually get too aggressive with the timings, which is good for my bargain RAM.Here's what things look like now:http://www.laniercreative.com/brian/flightsim/fsx_land.htmlStill a bit choppy, and still with some issues like texture pop and distant blurries, but when I'm not recording it stays firm at a nice locked 15fps and flies fine. All in all, I'm very happy with it.PS: Right before I reached the runway, where the video stops, the program dumped me with the 1-hour time limit. I was kind of ######.Anyways, that's what you can do one a computer that was mid-range three years ago, if everything is set up right.

Cross platform, in-browser, and small files.

I hate>all the ads and stupid stuff it puts on my machine and I can't>figure out how to turn off the constant reminders.I got kinda upset when they started packaging itunes with it. They have a stand-alone version now. No ads or anything. You can disable the tray icon in preferences and disable qttask using msconfig.http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/standalone.html
