Well i get about two seconds into the install and i get this error. Very frustrating ... i've downloaded four times from the MSFT website.Anybody have any thoughts? Same extract file ran fine on Win XP SP2 (my other pc - which is a pile of dung)Regards, Steve

I'm getting this error too, even on Win XP SP2 installations. Downloaded my file from the MS website. Perhaps they are hosting dud files by accident?Gary

I just finished installing FSX and the operation completed without a hitch (except that it installed DirectX 9.0C which I hear hasn't worked too well on some systems... let's hope it won't mess up mine). I haven't actually run the demo yet but at the very least I can report the installation went OK.The installer was downloaded from the MS website and I'm running Windows XP x64.EDIT:I might have done something differently than you guys, though. I didn't actually run the fsxprereleasedemo.exe file - I first unpacked it into a folder on my games HDD (which is separate from C: ) with WinRAR, then ran the setup.exe file within it and installed the game on that very same drive (once again, not C: ). Not sure if this could have something to do with it.

So still no success. I think i may hold the record for most downloads though ;)Still get corruption errors when trying to unpack the exe. I tried to unpack to a different drive ... same issue. I used WinRAR instead of Winzip and fails also.! C:DownloadsFSXfsxprereleasedemo.exe: CRC failed in Defaul~2.cab. The file is corruptOh well ... guess i can just sit and watch the screenshots.Regards,Steve

FWIW, the download I did from GH unpacked fine this morning. Installing now ...Update: The installation went off without a hitch, but now the demo just stops at the spash screen. Tried it on two different computer too. This is getting annoying - I just want to see the new FS in action. :-mad Gary

Check the readme.rtf file for tips. It mentions some specific language versions of Windows which the demo doesn't work with. It's probably not that, but there might be something else there that helps.

Finally got it to work. Had to disable my PCI video card for FSX to run. FSX doesn't like multi, multi monitors it seems.Off to play with FSX now :-hah Gary
