  2. As a recent convert to ORBX ... here's the path i took ... i downloaded the PNW demo scenery and it comes with a fully functioning KHQM (which had me at "hello"). I then searched the ORBX forums for a good flight plan that would take me around the Olympic peninsula. Found one instantly from Sam2299 - entitled "PNW- Scenic Flight Over Olympic NP" ... that (plus all other recommendations) was enough for me to purchase. If you do ... make sure you run the demo uninstaller before installing the proper files. There's enough freeware stuff to enhance the region ... and that should keep you occupied for a while. ;-)
  3. VERY nicely done!!! Reminds me very much of a RW video done by Rodrigodavi ... who makes some outstanding videos(if it's designed after that then kudos to you):
  4. Is it just coincidence that there's a 10 frame difference between the two?
  5. Nice site ... thanks for sharing ... can't wait to get home and fly!!
  6. Ohhh good one Steve ... forgot about that!! Great info.
  7. Only way I can think off the top of my head is to check the NAV STATUS page. Closest VOR information would be shown. You can get to the NAV STATUS page from the PROG menu on the FMC.
  8. I personally use the Aivlasoft EFB and it displays METAR information from NOAA .. so you can validate destination weather without issue. While an inflight lookup would be a nice feature for OPUS i think it would be overkill since there are plenty of software offerings that can do this already. I vote to stick with developing the awesomeness that is the weather engine ;-)
  9. Awesome Jeff. Great attention to detail in the narrative and outstanding pics. Loved the read! Thanks for posting.
  10. Wow! Nice shots!! :Applause:
  11. Is there a way to make that configurable so i can set my own time limit perhaps?
  12. As the topic says ... i have purchased the full version of the product and really like the spy window, but find it a little frustrating that it closes after 1 minute. Couldn't find in the doc if there's the option to have the spy window open longer. Regards,
  13. Such a small world ... i was an administrator in the Helen Newberry Joy building (was torn down for dorm rooms after i left) ... worked in Financial Aid and Enrollment Systems. Happy to hear that frames are good ... i'll be making this my next purchase!!
  14. Wow ... outstanding pics ... looks like they have my old stomping grounds (Wayne State Uni) down pat!!! How are frames with this package ... any noticeable difference?
  15. Has anyone managed to actually get the weather radar working? If so ... was it not working and you did something to make it work (i.e. register a specific dll etc)I've seen Youtube videos and other acknowledgements that it must work in certain circumstances ... just not sure what they are. What lacking instructions are bundled with the product I followed - 2D cockpit ... central pedestal ... flip switch to On = zip, zilch, nada. Just wondering if there's a specific way i need to tilt my head to make it work??Regards,Steve
  16. I'm with Jim on this one ...this has happened to me a couple of times ... looks like you missed a waypoint ... simple way to fix is to request to fly 'direct' to a waypoint in RC (preferably the next waypoint scheduled in your FMC) ... that'll keep the controller from barking at you :(
