March 13, 20197 yr I want to learn to fly using a flight simulator. I have the x56 Rhino HOTAS stick and throttle given to me as a gift. I learned that both X Plane 11 and X Plane 10 are supported by Logitech as working with X Plane. I tried the X Plane 11 demo but the GPU on my fairly robust system is not up to the task. However X Plane 10 works with lower rendering levels. Is there anyone out there that could give me some guidance regarding using X Plane 10 and the x56. I have manuals for both. Logitech wants me and installed drivers and configure and map keyboard functions to buttons on the controllers. The X Plane 10 manual seems to have its own process for that. I need guidance on which set of instructions to use. Can anyone in this community help me get started. Thanks in advance, Otrman
March 14, 20197 yr Hi, First thing, forget XP10. XP11 is far better optimized with a much improved interface. The Controller set up is far easier and more comprehensive. I'm sure there are many x56 Users out there who will assist you.'Fraid i'm just a simple Joystick User. - Dean P3Dv4 & XP11 space
March 14, 20197 yr I agree. Low settings in X-Plane 11 should work better. Also you might consider upgrading your GPU. If you list your specs, I can give a recommendation. - Currently giving X-Plane 12.10 a spin on Shadow PC. 10 years with X-Plane now, since 10.20
March 14, 20197 yr I second the others, go with XP11, its performance should improve in the near future with the switch to Vulkan. What GPU / CPU / RAM do you have? "Society has become so fake that the truth actually bothers people".
March 16, 20197 yr Author I have not choice right now. Because of physical limitations I simply cannot physically access its connections, unplug everything, lift it up onto a workbench, open the case, and install a new graphics card. I need too start somewhere and that place has to be version 10. I will go to version 11 as soon as I can work all these things out. Meanwhile I am going to have to use the x56 gift and version 10. Is there anyone out who can help me get started. Any help greatly appreciated. Henry
