March 27, 20197 yr Hi, Upon doing flights to and from Asia right around Japan my flight crashes. I don't know if it's a corrupted or missing scenery section. There used to be an application that would pop up and not only show you the erroneous section info but would allow you to continue your flight. Is this or something similar still available? Thanks, Ed Kammerman Edited March 27, 20197 yr by Ed Kammerman
March 27, 20197 yr There are some options available in the sim (set in the FSX.cfg) to flag missing scenery elements, but no real-time scenery checker I've ever seen. Best advice I can give is to first disable any add-on scenery in the area and see if that cures it. If not, then a region-specific AI plane with a bad texture could also be behind it. Finding one of those is a real chore. March 29, 20197 yr Author Hi, If I should find a missing scenery file how do I repair it ? Ed Kammerman
April 4, 20197 yr Author After running the repair cycle and restarting my PC, FSX would try to start and then crash. This occurred after several attempts. Any thoughts?
April 11, 20197 yr Author So, after running a repair and still could not launch FSX, I ran a repair of FSX Acceleration and lo and behold everything loaded. Now for the bad news....my flights are still crashing off the Japanese coast. BTW I even replaced the scenery folder. Ed Kammerman
