June 9, 200619 yr Hi,If AFCAD files are not compatible with FSX, I am hoping that we can use SceneGenX to decompile them (almost all can be at this point) and then recompile them with the tool MS gives us in the FSX SDK. We might even have to hand code them a bit, but that will still be OK. Or we can import them into the new SceneGenFSX (coming soon I hope) and edit them there.Take care,--Tom GibsonCal Classic Propliner Page: http://www.calclassic.comFreeflight Design Shop: http://www.freeflightdesign.comDrop by! ___x_x_(")_x_x___ Tom Gibson CalClassic Propliner Page
June 9, 200619 yr I can produce xmls with proper runways and nav/comm on a batch basis but it looks like taxiways and parking spots are all done manually? That is why so many small GA fields have not a single parking spot. I can think of the ways to put them on automatically but that involves "being aware of" ground objects like hangars, terminals and underlying "airport areas" etc which is not possible with AFCAD now. I wonder if we will be able to edit them together in FSX. =S.V.=
June 12, 200619 yr Ground objects can be in several different types of files.XML based data and .MDL data can be in APnnnnn.bgl files with the airport data, OB files or files with a city name.Non XML based object data can be in BR files for bridges, and UT files for utility poles. Also, once the airport background polygon is crossed - the buildings, trees, shrubs, etc are controlled by the autogen in the landclass. Getting everything moved to one structure format (XML ?) would be useful.
