And yes, it does have the latest updates installed as far as GTN and Trainer, (GTN Is now 2.10) Next Step for me is to reinstall GTN and Trainer i guess and see if on the 5 1/2 hour flight back to seattle it does it again. it really is starting to get annoying. hopefully Bert hears back from Flight 1 soon. Besides the idents that won't go away, are you also missing the DME 1 and ADF 1 buttons at the bottom of the stack on the audio ident button page shown above? FYI, here are two Flight1 threads concerning these issues. https://www.simforums.com/Forums/in-progress-gtn-audio-panel-no-adf-option_topic61576.html https://www.simforums.com/Forums/adf-sound-turning-on-repeatedly_topic61574.html Al
May 12, 20197 yr Author Quote Does switching from MIC1 to MIC2 help? Not Really sure if that did anything or not as it happened on short final. I DID click over to 2 then back to 1 as suggested but within a minute I was on the ground again so who knows. Will try that method again on a longer flight, Quote Besides the idents that won't go away, are you also missing the DME 1 and ADF 1 buttons at the bottom of the stack on the audio ident button page shown above? Nope, I have DME1 and ADF1, no issues there, its just got a mind of its own. I do have one quick question since we're on the GTN Topic. On the 650 AND 750, how do I get the nav/com's to operate as nav 1 and com 1 instead of default (in my Mustang's 650) Its set up as COM2 and NAV2. maybe I missed this setting in the manual but im at a loss.

The GTN COM/NAV 1 or 2 choice is a selection in the Flight1 Config Tool as shown below. Select the GTN unit tab (GTN750/GTN650 1 or 2) you want to setup and then click on the COM/NAV Radios button to select the radios you want to use with that unit. Al Edited May 12, 20197 yr by ark

Tune in the VOR and experiment with the ident buttons on the GPS Audio page. Al Edited May 12, 20197 yr by ark
May 12, 20197 yr Author Thanks Al! Ill test that hopefully this afternoon! BTW, Is there a way to stop the "pull up" alert when im doing aerobatics? I tried the TAWS inhibit but it has no affect. I think the TAWS system replaces a GPWS doesnt it? Edited May 12, 20197 yr by chevelle505

I tried the TAWS inhibit but it has no affect. I think the TAWS system replaces a GPWS doesnt it? I don't do aerobatics, at least not intentionally, but there are a couple of things you can try. I'm not sure what replaces what, but in the aircraft config file there is a GPWS section like this: [GPWS] max_warning_height = 1000 // AGL Feet below which warnings are allowed sink_rate_fpm = -2500// Vertical speed below which "Sink Rate" will sound excessive_sink_rate_fpm = -3000// "Pull Up" climbout_sink_rate_fpm = -100 //"Don't Sink" when TOGA flap_and_gear_sink_rate_fpm = -100 // "Too Low,Flaps" if flaps are up and gear is down If you set the max warning height to -1 I think that will shut GPWS down, at least as far as the sim itself is concerned. Also, there is a keyboard control setting called GPWS(toggle) that you can assign a key to if you would rather not shut the warning off permanently. Al EDIT: In the GTN manual it says: 11.4.8.5 Inhibiting/Enabling TAWS-B PDA/FLTA Alerting TAWS also has an inhibit mode that deactivates the PDA/FLTA aural and visual alerts. Pilots should use discretion when inhibiting TAWS and always remember to enable the system when appropriate. Only the PDA and FLTA alerts are disabled in the inhibit mode. After cycling power, TAWS will no longer be inhibited. PDA is Premature Descent Alterting, and FLTA is Forward Looking Terrain Avoidance Alerting. So it seems the TAWS inhibit function does not turn of the GPWS. The real GTN750 (and the RXP GTN 750) offers a choice of TAWS modes (TERR, TAWS A and TAWS B). In the TAWS A mode the Menu popup on the TERRAIN page has both TAWS inhibit and GPWS inhibit buttons. However, at the moment I don't see how to put the Flight1 GTN into the TAWS A mode. May 13, 20197 yr Author Thanks, ill give that a try. And when i say Aerobatics, im referring to the GTN650 in my P51 lol..I try to avoid Aerobatics in the falcon myself haha. Also, sorry i know its a flysimware forum..dont mean to ask support questions on another aircraft, just figured id ask since it deals with the flight 1 GTN and ive been having these and other issues in other aircraft as well.
