Hi fellas,

Does anyone of you have an idea where the C stands for at airport offices and where it comes from?

It's the location of the air traffic services reporting office. From ICAO:

"The letter C displayed vertically in black against a yellow background (Figure 1.10) indicates the location of the air traffic services reporting office.MLS-12D."

Thanks Jay, I am aware of that 🙂 What I meant to ask is why is it a letter 'C' and how and when was decided to use that letter. Is it an Abbreviation? At our homebase EHTE we always say the C stands for coffee 😄

No one seems to know why the letter C is used. The best guess is Air Traffic CONTROL.
