FSX and Aircraft ICE SYSTEM

Featured Replies

Hi Ron,I found that airframe ice weight could be removed with existing de-ice variables in the turboprop or jet flight model, but it is impossible in the piston flight model. Have you found something different?Thanks,--Tom GibsonCal Classic Propliner Page: http://www.calclassic.comFreeflight Design Shop: http://www.freeflightdesign.comDrop by! ___x_x_(")_x_x___

I'd thought non would Sometimes a panel switch doesn't work correctly, but my KB assignment does. The only clear way to see if some deice function is working is to watch Induced Drag and/or prop efficiency on a test gauge. Ron

Hi again,I was using AFSD to watch the weight of the aircraft increase as icing began. Then I used the keyboard deice to activate it. The weight was removed in the turboprop and jet aircraft, but not on the piston aircraft (even the default Baron). The poor piston flight model doesn't get any respect - no de-ice, no reverse thrust, no two stage supercharger (just permanent WEP - how hard could that be?), etc.Take care,--Tom GibsonCal Classic Propliner Page: http://www.calclassic.comFreeflight Design Shop: http://www.freeflightdesign.comDrop by! ___x_x_(")_x_x___
