July 14, 20196 yr Hello, Just started using the GTN 750 and have a quick question. During flight w/ VNAV enabled I get some message about it not being supported for this leg of the flight. What does this mean? I did some research on it and found a few threads here about it but it looks like at some point it was changed from VCALC to VNAV. Is it possible to get VNAV working (really only would like ToD calculation) or can I revert back to VCALC?
July 16, 20196 yr Hi, this is all detailed in the RXP GTN User's Manual, "Settings" chapter! Hint: AFMS Settings.

Hi, I also like to know enabling 750 VNAV for X-plane (Carenado Premier 1A), as I have trouble to find the section you mentioned above. I didn't find AFMS keyword from the user manual: http://reality-xp.com/support/trainingcenter/userguides/manuals/Reality%20XP%20GTN%20Touch%20XPlane.pdf Search VNAV also returned nothing.
August 3, 20196 yr I found the VNAV settings in the user manual, Google search didn't return the latest version. My settings under AFMS are: Vertical Navigation Type: VNAV Transition To Approach: Enabled Still, passing TOD displayed on the map, the airplane doesn't begin to descend.

I believe the VNAV/VCALC feature on the GTN is - advisory only - in nature - you have to command the AP or fly the descent... Regards, Scott

VNAV is a new feature since GTN 6.50, VCALC was the default and only available option before. In both cases, there is no vertical coupling with the A/P at this time unless there is a Glide Path signal (VDI on the HSI)

I saw a video (by Rmag) on Youtube, the pilot explains how GTN 750's VNAV works if "VNAV that is enabled when paired a the G500 TXi/G600 TXi, G500/G600 or G5".
August 5, 20196 yr @swuphoto Hi, can you post the link to the video? I believe this is limited to both having a Garmin EFIS, and a Garmin Autopilot (which gets its input from the EFIS, not from the GPS).

I wish to understand is that limitation only applies to real aircraft? As in the sim, many aircrafts equip autopilot equipments (e.g. (Premier 1A/Pro line 21)
