Question about latest trainer and database

Featured Replies

So the latest RXP version is 6.62 and database compatible, thus the latest cycle is in fact 1809 from Garmin?  Why don't they release newer cycles with a new trainer?

Hi Chris,

Yes the latest genuine Reality XP GTN 750/650 Touch is compatible with the latest GTN Trainer 6.62. The later ships with he Garmin Trainer installer 2.5.0.0 which also includes a complete set of database cycle 1809.

The DB is a little more recent (1809 with trainer 6.62 vs 1803 with trainer 6.50) and also includes Canada charts in addition to US charts.

They used to ship rather up-to-date DB sets in the past with each GTN trainer release, and 1809 is not too old either all things considered. As a matter of fact, I'm confident at least 95% of the procedures are the same as with the current cycle.

The Trainer is aimed at real world owners. Therefore I would suggest that given that the intention is that real world users use the "Trainer" to practice for using their GNSS, the fact the database is a little out of date is not important.
