  1. I don't understand this romanticism over VOR & NDB navigation. Having obtained an instrument rating back in the mid 80's, no such thing as GPS existed - in fact, you were lucky in GA to have an aircraft with DME or the luxury of a rudimentary autopilot. Now as an IFR instructor, give me modern technology any day of the week. Sure, it is a bit of fun in the sim to play with it, but the reality is the world runs on GPS now whether we like it or not. So, glass or analogue? Give me glass any day.
  2. I did the same but at this point appears to be no change. Never flown one but surely metric is a real option?
  3. Am I seeing it right that you cannot change the flight displays to show Kg, only lbs? The system settings for units don't give an option?
  4. I hope it cost less than when I did it in the real thing a long time ago ๐Ÿ˜†
  5. Any chance you could tell the rest of us?
  6. I remember back in the day that an Airbus was like finding the holy grail!
  7. That's just one person's opinion - others may vary.
  8. There have been several "strange" design decisions that defy logic since 2020.
  9. Thanks for the information, I have SPAD so will give it a try.
  10. Still no resolution for the freezing MCDU on the iniBuilds A340. No one seems to know whose end is causing the issue.
  11. Don't be drawn into thinking you have to Einstein to be a pilot. Yes, you learn a lot of stuff to pass theory exams, but as other practising pilots have replied, it is mostly "rules of thumb" that get you by in day-to-day flying, and a fair serving of common sense.
  12. Absolutely correct. In controlled airspace (unless in an emergency), and you descend without clearance you'll be getting a phone call from your nearest FAA official, or the equivalent. IRL, I have been left high on numerous occasions on one route I fly, because of airspace layout mainly. It happens, and as @Stearmandriver says, you deal with it.

    Made me laugh.
  14. Design decisions seem to be a bit odd these days, especially with 340's. Even the new Aerosoft/Toliss offering still does not support MCDU hardware even though this is becoming standard now.
  15. The Bhutan government withdrew all of the navdata.
  16. Never the less, the thing should work and not freeze. They've known about it for long enough. It did the same to me using a Mobiflight profile so it is an iniBuilds issue.
  17. Not if I've paid for a premium economy or business class seat in an attempt to take my chances of sitting in an area free from screaming kids.
  18. I'm going to buck the trend here. While I admire the OP's unbridled enthusiasm and I know simmers have a propensity to do this under the guise of "I'm only trying to improve the product" - but it is naive and unrealistic on the release of a $50 add-on for an entertainment product to immediately compare what it can't do compared to an operating manual for a real aircraft that costs (or would have) cost hundreds of millions of dollars. I am not saying that we have to accept mediocrity but at the same time we must not have unrealistic expectations. We don't truly know what the development goals of the developer are; not being a programmer, I don't what is or isn't possible, or the scope of what the developer wants to achieve. The closer you try to get to technical data, the longer the development time - just look at the complaining that surrounds certain big-time developers of Boeings and Airbus titles regarding delays/development time. That is the price you pay for realism, and price is always another complaining point. As a current GA pilot and instructor, of course I want to also see things as accurate as possible, but at the same time I try to maintain realistic expectations. As a simmer who started with FS2 on a Commodore 64, I also rejoice at how far we have come.
  19. It amazes me that the sim community still embraces the April Fool's nonsense. Most other people gave it up in the 6th grade.
  20. ๐Ÿ˜ reeled me in! ๐Ÿ‘
  21. I'm not going for this one personally, but surely you are joking? Everyone who is looking forward to this, enjoy!
  22. For the sake of accuracy PMDG announced the updates on 12 MAR 2026.

They didn't think that one through๐Ÿคฃ
  24. FSL Neo came up with red screens for me despite being "compatible". Reinstalled etc but no joy so went back to SU4. Not complaining, it's a beta so you expect these things.

"Smells like .... victory" I think that was a better line than the napalm line. RIP
