September 5, 20196 yr Commercial Member Don't bother checking the DX10 box unless you have DX10 capable addons. DX10 runs faster than regular FSX but some things might not look right, and some things can look grainy. Steve Waite: Engineer at codelegend.com
September 5, 20196 yr Author Regarding the FSX Acceleration activation Error, Is there a limited number of times one can start FSX\Accl.? Before something else goes wrong ? Berlopez
September 5, 20196 yr Commercial Member There is a limit, but it is quite usual, to stop sharing of the program. Edited September 5, 20196 yr by SteveW Steve Waite: Engineer at codelegend.com
September 5, 20196 yr Author SteveW It's looking great with DX10 checked, no fall on FPS or graphics' anomalies. Berlopez
September 5, 20196 yr Commercial Member DX10 looks a little better and runs a little faster. Steve Waite: Engineer at codelegend.com
September 5, 20196 yr Author So it seems, I don't understand your reply regarding the number of times FSX\Accel. can be started with the Activation Error Message; Sorry my hard head. Berlopez
September 5, 20196 yr Commercial Member If you have an activation error it might be because of too many installs. That can be reset, we used to call an auto-reply number and quote the serial number in the box.. Edited September 5, 20196 yr by SteveW Steve Waite: Engineer at codelegend.com
September 5, 20196 yr Commercial Member You could search the error message as you see it in Google you can see what others do. Type in: FSX Gold: 'your error message' Steve Waite: Engineer at codelegend.com
September 5, 20196 yr Author SteveW: Have done so, big hastle, for me at least, some say one must go to registry and fiddle around with a KEY, not much for it as I am not very comp. proned, as you might have noticed.Apparently the error starts when one installs Acceleration, quel domage! Berlopez
September 5, 20196 yr Commercial Member OK. Let me have a look... Steve Waite: Engineer at codelegend.com
September 5, 20196 yr Commercial Member I can send something to do it auto. But that can present other problems. Instead can you try this... Press Windows Key, type 'Run', press Enter. In the Run box, type regedit.exe Click OK. Agree to raise privilege. Come back when you see the Registry Editor window, looks like a complicated Explorer window. Do nothing else. Steve Waite: Engineer at codelegend.com
September 5, 20196 yr Author Have got to Registration Editor window didn't have to click OK or aagree to raise priviledge ? I might mention that this computer is in Danish and although I am fluent it's difficult to translate.
September 5, 20196 yr Commercial Member That's right. Since you took ownership with your logon, you already have privilege. Remember so does anything that runs when you log in have access, malware, virus, trojan, rootkit all have access. Your PC might not be a good place to put in your Credit card or bank details. You can find more about the registry item to look for on my site - scroll to the bottom of the page: http://www.codelegend.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=392 Steve Waite: Engineer at codelegend.com
September 5, 20196 yr Author Thanks SteveW yes I learned this sometime ago, luckily not the hard way ! Good news thanks to you guide I managed to edit the reg and get rid of the message. Berlopez
