August 6, 20196 yr Hi, In the above mentioned situation, Reshade keeps loading and XP becomes unusable? Is there a solution for? Regards, Paul - near EHRD
August 6, 20196 yr Hi, The issue lies with these 'hacks' which are interposing between the main application and the graphics drivers. The problem is post-processing programs are not well designed to handle 'child' windows properly.
August 6, 20196 yr Author Thx RXP. So no more Reshade then. I am very happy with your product. Fun to fly👍🏻 Regards, Paul - near EHRD
August 10, 20196 yr Does XP become unstable only if the GTN 750 AND Reshade are installed? I ask because I am considering purchasing either the GNS 530 or the GTN 750...if they are not compatible with Reshade, that is a deal killer. Rank
August 11, 20196 yr @Rank_Badjin Hi, The issue is not the GTN nor XP11. The issue is Reshade and the way it works. Simply put, it tries to interpose between the application and the graphics card API and it intercepts all calls to 'add' its own layer of processing on top. For example, say you tell the video card to draw a red triangle, it intercepts the 'drawTriangle( redColor ) call and replaces the 'redColor with 'greenColor'. It is way more complex than this but you get the idea I hope. What happens is that the GTN 'settings' window is a child window of the XPlane window and Reshade don't know how to deal with this (it deals only with the main window). Unfortunately, the child settings window also uses the video card 3D acceleration and Reshade doesn't know which one is which anymore. Having said this, once Vulkan is mainstream, you won't be able to run Reshade anyhow...
