May 8, 20197 yr Tried downloading and installing the new update through X plane 11 this morning and I was greeted by Windows Security. rxpGTN-650-XPL.exe, RealityXP\Software Updates\Garmin GTN 750 650 (XPlane).lnk and RealityXP\Software Updates\Garmin GTN 750 650 (XPlane).lnk contain Trojan threats. These files were all downloaded through the native update option within X plane 11. Anyone else experience this?
May 11, 20197 yr Hi, This is a false positive and it triggers only because of our software protection which is mistakenly viewed as a threat. Edited May 11, 20197 yr by RXP
August 9, 20196 yr On the 31 July 2019 I had also a false positive from Kaspersky Total Security 2019 on file: <Drive:>\X-Plane 11\Resources\plugins\rxpGTN\64\win.xpl KTS reported: HEUR:Exploit.Win64.Shellcode.gen KTS reported that it moved this file first to a Quarentena folder and then eliminated the file What can I do?
August 11, 20196 yr Hi, We've informed Kaspersky and they've acknowledged their error in flagging our files, and they've promised they'll update their virus definitions accordingly. It might take some time to spread out. In the meantime, you might want to manually "white list" any RXP file (they all start with 'rxp' prefix).
August 11, 20196 yr Hi Jean-Luc, Any chance you could inform BT (British Telecom plc ) I run BT McAfee Virus Protect of this issue concerning this quarantining issue … Item rxpGtnSim32.dll Threat JTI/Suspect.196612101034b31ed7d is their corresponding quarantine code . File rxpGtnSim32.dll which is instantly detected is thrown straight into quarantine . You speak of White Listing files Jean -Luc !!! You cud not sneak this file past BT McAfee under a white blanket and believe me I have repeatedly and frustratingly tried for over 30 -48 hours. Combination upon combination of attempts I have tried all to no avail. I have told the McAfee quarantine cell to reinstall the file the only option they give you, that its ok ,before X-Plane loads its back in its quarantine cell. In true British stiff upper lip fashion I am planning on digging a tunnel to smuggle rxpGtnSim32.dll past the guards !!!. Please get this huge security problem sorted Jean- Luc soon. I have tried previous versions and combinations of Garmin this and Reality XP that, at one point I had success up and running again till one eagle eye guard spotted rxpGtnSim32.dll … Don't ask !!☹️ Yours Gratefully, Nev.
August 11, 20196 yr I attempted the installation on a new dedicated simulation computer (Windows 10 with Bitdefender). The setup.exe was blocked from installing because TojanGenericKD.32184449 was indicated. This virus indication is different than prior discussions. While this may be another "false indication", (is it safe to assume this is the case?) it isn't comfortable trying to work around flashing red lights screaming "don't be foolish." I've installed all manner of simulation software for many years, without this kind of problem. The product is too expensive to continue to perpetuate a known installation pothole. August 11, 20196 yr @Nevs. Hi, here are a couple KB articles: How to exclude files from scanning in your McAfee security software for WindowsHow to delete or restore quarantined files and programs on Windows or macOSHow to add a items to the "Trusted Items" list? NB: it looks like there is a 'trusted' and an 'excluded' list and both have different purposes. The issue is complex and troubling. In effect, although are files are encrypted and protected, they are also 'tagged' with a unique RXP identifier. The whole purpose of this 'tag' is to effectively pass-through anti-virus software 'cleanly' and this was created by an anti-virus alliance initiative... Well...
August 12, 20196 yr Hi Jean - Luc, Thanks for your help in this matter , I will give it a try later in the day, unfortunately work commitments prevent right now, Cheers , Nev.
August 12, 20196 yr Hi Jean-Luc, Sir your the toast of the Northeast of England .. County Durham to be precise.. followed the first link .. McAfee security software. and instant success 😀 Jean-Luc.. I owe you a drink Sir 🍻🍷 call any time 😉 These links really need pinning for any other poor suffering souls to read. Thanks ever so much Jean -Luc, Nev. Ps. I`ve cancelled the tunnel dig 🤣😂😁
August 12, 20196 yr I'm glad you've sorted this one out. I've just used google with the keywords "BT McAfee white list file" and followed the first few links...
August 12, 20196 yr Hi there, I just purchased gtn software, but I can't install it. The insallation progress stops with the following remark C:\Program Files (x86)´\Reality XP\GTN Simulation\X-Plane\bin\rxpGtnSim32.dll An error occuredwhile trying to rename a file in the destination directory: MoveFile failed; code 5 I use bitdefender. It indicated a troyan. I put the rxpGTN-XPL-Setup.exe to the trusted items, but thias did not help. Then I dectivated all modules of bitdefender - nothing changed, I got the same result as described above. Jörg
August 12, 20196 yr Hi Jean-Luc, I have a reasonable home built machine and tend to buy only quality addons , I limit these also,so as not to swamp system with to much overkill !!, FF320,.. Carenado Navajo and S340, which natively uses your Reality XP 750 software. Finally the X- Aviation TBM 900 a very recent purchase ( as in last week ). that's it in the hanger . You can imagine my despair at losing 50% of available stock available to fly ie the Navajo and the S340 plus the XP 750 I was not a happy pilot. xEnviro 1.11 runs the clouds , ORBX full UK Scenery and Airports runs the visuals on the ground, With your wonderful guidance and help I now have both feet back on terra - firma, and my head is back in the clouds . Eternally grateful Jean- Luc, Cheers 🍻, Nev.

Hi RXP, unfortunately it is not possible to put " C:\Program Files (x86)´\Reality XP\GTN Simulation\X-Plane\bin\rxpGtnSim32.dll" in the trusted items, because it does not exist seperately (it is part of the installation process after starting the rxpGTN-XPL-Setup.exe).Probably the installerexe does not work with my windows 10 pro. So what? I tried all I could (putting the exe to the white list , total deactivation of bitdefender and even the UAC). I am very disappointed, since I used the gtn 750 in FSX (great experience!). I am not a professsional in IT I just want fun, burt it seems the gtn 750 will not work with my x-plan 11 (in the latest stable version 11.35). I'd like to suggest to delete the files I downloaded and get my money back (via PayPal). I don't see any other solution. Joerg
