It won't be, not at least on the PC version (as console versions of any game are closed to modification). You currently can find free mods/dlcs for any Microsoft games outside their official distribution methods. I don't see why it would be diffrently on the MSFS2020. 9800X3D@H150i // Msi RTX 5090 Trio OC // 64GB DDR5 6000mhz CL30 // 2TB + 1TB Nvme Dell 27" 2127DGF - 1440p - Gsync - 165hz Thrustmaster TCA Sidestick Airbus // TCA Quadrant Airbus // TFRP T.Flight Rudder Pedals // Logitech Flight Multi Panel

But we are still at a time when it is useful to send some messages to the team. There is a culture around the FS franchise that deserves to be kept alive. August 26, 20196 yr Microsoft could just give us the tools, the bricks, to create objects like a Lego game. I don't play Minecraft but I think the idea is the same. That would ensure freewares won't bring any instability or CTDs.

But I see an aspiration of some fellow simmers for an aseptic world that I don't share. First addons, free or payware, don't automatically bring instability . No more than the sim itself 😏. Some could be better optimized, some don't work as we'd want but instability ? Then if one is afraid to spoil one's install, just don't use them. This hobby has grown through the imagination of hundreds of people without any control from a central management. A bit anarchistic of course but a world where a MS quality control manager will have the last world on everything will be sterile i.e. dead. I am for a dual approach. A shop for those that are scared by the prospect of adding 3rd party addons without the blessing of MS and the freedom for the brave. The FS world should stay an open sandbox. August 26, 20196 yr Sandbox that's the word. I am a big fan of Arma and the Editor they have is just perfect, all the objects (thousands) are compatible with each other. Even better, instead of offering let's say 10 different models for a warehouse, they could propose 100 models for a type of wall, that will let us create hundreds of different warehouses, unique objects to truly match the ones in the real world. We are the manpower, let us work 😉
August 26, 20196 yr Author As opposed as I am to MS controlling everything, a central repository of objects besides the default models is an interesting idea !
