August 26, 20196 yr Regarding HiFi, you can get the P3Dv4-compatible version for free as long as you have an AS 2016 license. Regarding A2A, the v4 versions are a free upgrade from previous P3D versions, but A2A have recently rebuilt their store, so you may need to contact Lewis via PM on the A2A forums with your purchase details to get your account migrated to the new store (well worth it as the v4 versions come with some nice goodies such as windshield rain effects and dynamic reflections). August 26, 20196 yr A lot of FSX stuff will work just fine in P3DV4. A big clue as to whether that will be the case with add-on aeroplanes, so long as they are not too complex (i.e. WW2 fighters, GA aeroplanes etc), is whether the thing has 3D gauges in its VC. Generally speaking, if it has 3D VC gauges, then there's a half decent chance that it will work in P3D because it will have been built using relatively recent programming and compiling methods. Almost all scenery will work or can be made to work with a bit of faffing around. You may find that you have to have either FSX installed, or a dummy version of an FSX folder in order for some older installers to work since they might not be too happy if they cannot find an FSX folder. Usually with add-on aeroplanes where this occurs, you can install them into FSX, then either copy over the main aircraft folder to the equivalent P3D one, and also manually copy over the gauges and effects and sounds if needed. Keep in mind if you are going to indulge in that kind of thing, it is obviously more sensible to perform this kind of stuff 'one at a time' rather than 'en-mass', so you can check that P3D is still firing up okay after you have placed some files (so, having a back up of your config files is not a bad precaution). Also, obviously bear in mind that you won't be in a position to ask for support from the developer if they made something for FSX and not for P3D, and it's also as well to be aware that some developers will not have licensed their products for use in P3D, so there are potentially copyright issues too. As with everything in life, a bit of common sense is the best guide where all this kind of thing is concerned. Alan Bradbury Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here
