My FS2Crew flow guides for 737, 747, 777, and MD80

Featured Replies

Hey all, I've been writing and using these flowers guides for the FS2Crew modules for the 737 (SOP 2), 747, 777, and MD80. I know there are lots of flow guides out there for pilots who want to learn how to fly each of these airplanes with FS2Crew, but I thought I'd share mine.

Why use my flow guides over the manual or any other?

  • They're meant to be read top to bottom: Checklists and and flows are interspersed so that you don't have to scroll up and down the page or reference other documents; everything is in the doc, in the order that you need it.
  • They're checked for accuracy: I've flown each of these flows dozens, even hundreds of times, and fixed errors whenever I found them. Even where the official manual disagrees with what actually happens.
  • They don't teach you how to fly the plane, but they're not so condensed that they're missing crucial info: They assume you're already familiar with how to operate the aircraft, but just need a guide for the correct order to do and say things.
  • They include the FO's steps: In case you want to fly as the FO (to learn how things are done), or if the FO misses a beat, you can always reference these flows to see what the FO is/should be doing.
  • They include emergency procedures (NGX): All emergency flows and checklists are included without needing to reference the QRH.
  • They include relevant abnormals: Things such as cold weather procedures, cross-bleed starts, etc. are included, in line, if it affects your interaction with the FO. (For other abnormals, reference the checklists.)

Don't use my flow guides if:

  • You're very new to the aircraft and need something that will also tell you where to find the switches, what does what, etc.
  • You want to simulate being a real line pilot. Real line pilots memorize the flows [especially emergency flows], so hit the books, champ!
  • You fly with an SOP other than SOP 2 in the NGX, or you have custom-configured your 777/747/MD80 flows. Haven't built PDFs for those yet.
