September 7, 20196 yr What do you think of this laptop for FSX-SE? It's just $805. https://www.amazon.com/ASUS-IPS-Level-i5-8300H-GeForce-2666MHz/dp/B07DY11M1F Asus TUF FX504GE-ES72 CPU: i7-8750H (6 cores, 2.2-4.1 Ghz) RAM: 8GB DDR4 Display: 15", 1920x1080 Storage: 256 GB M.2 SSD (yes, too small, but there's a SATA bay avaliable, and I have a SATA SSD lying around). GPU: Geforce GTX 1050Ti My idea is to run FSX-SE with Orbx Global+Vector, no addon airports (just AFCADs), AI, ActiveSky WX, and aircraft such as the Aerosoft Airbus and the iFly 737. Moving into P3D is not an option for me, I was able to get all the FSX addons for not that much. Will it be a good purchase? September 7, 20196 yr I think it would be a reasonable purchase. You'll have to make some compromises on settings but overall it would run high settings. | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
September 8, 20196 yr Author Thanks, Ryan. Do you think it would be a worthwhile upgrade from my current rig (specs in signature)? September 8, 20196 yr Have you considered the new XBOX when it`s released new sim and no VAS issue and most likely cheaper, I left FSX:SE due to the 32bit limits and having to dumb down the settings to use IFLY aircraft and ORBX. Raymond Fry.
