Turning off window reflection in Airbus

Featured Replies

Hi, is there a way or workaround to avoid the window reflection or colourisation on the Airbus flight-deck? In 2D flying, there is not a problem but in VR the outside terrain colours are becoming very light and washed out. Flying today in ORBX True Earth The Netherlands, it became annoying and very ugly outside the plane. (not in spot mode, that was beautiful). Thanks...

We are all connected..... To each other, biologically...... To the Earth, chemically...... To the rest of the Universe atomically.

Unfortunately it is not that easy as HiFlyer suggested and how discribed in the AFS2 thread.  A discription which is pretty superficial and belongs to the C-172.

For example: I was really super annoyed by IPACS's awful canopy reflection inside their Extra 330,and how it was done; what an immerson killer, particular during aerobatics or whilst sightseeing flights (the Extra is particularly suitable for that because of its open structure and arc free canopy - similar to the F-16).

If you want to get rid of this mischief you have to go inside the folder  " Steam\steamapps\common\Aerofly FS 2 Flight Simulator\aircraft\extra330 " and there you'll find a file called " extrhaubei_reflection.ttx " , which is responsible for the inside canopy reflections.

The tricky part: someone who is not familiar with German language will not know that " haube " (in German Haube) means " canopy".  So in this case haube = canopy and the " i " behind stands for " innen or inside " assuming !

And voila', after renaming extraubei_reflection. ttx to extrahaubei_reflection.ttx1 (or whatever you like to swich off this file) no more disturbing canopy reflections inside the cockpit.

Cheers.

Thx for your comment and concerns but the reaction of HiFlyer was correct, at least for my problem, I managed in the A320 folder the renaming of 4 files related to reflection (after first make a backup) and it's fine now in VR.

Happy landings...
