My understanding is that FSUIPC uses a version of the legacy DirectInput API with a limit of 32 buttons (the Alpha yoke has 35 buttons). However, you can run a Lua program to scan the additional buttons on the yoke and map them to FSUIPC virtual buttons. There is a thread here that specifically talks about doing this for the Alpha yoke.

yoke is awesome, i just used a combination of fsuipc and the honeycomb software which is pretty good
