HELP! Prepar3dv4.5 Latest Lear 35 and Wx Advantage Radar problem

Recommended Posts

Please help! I own all the products. The Wx Advantage Radar in the Lear 35 is not clickable and the pop up is a black screen. I am using the Flysimeware GPS configuration.

Thanks in advance.

Are you sure you have the very latest version of the WX radar -- Tech Update 7 dated 21May2019, ( and also the latest GTN750 if you are using that)?  Also, what version of the Lear35 are you using?

Yes.

You didn't say what version of the Lear you are using.

Also, are you updating the Lear and the WX radar worked in the previous version, or is this a completely new Lear install?

If you updated the Lear, did you uninstall the previous version first?

Did you get any error messages from the installer?

Besides the radar, does everything else seem to be working in the Lear, such as the Payload manager?

Does the WX radar work in other FSW aircraft, or even in aircraft from other developers?

And finally, do you have P3D installed in the typical place, e.g., on the C drive?

Sorry for all the questions, but the problem you are having is unique to your setup somehow, so we need to figure out why the install didn't work in your case.

Al thanks for your help. I have all the latest installs. Can you tell me where Wx Advantage Radar places their gauges? I think it’s an install issue. I haven’t tried with any other aircraft yet. All programs are under c:\

Working for Lear35 fine for me.

Same for me. You should also have a WX Advantage Radar folder on your C drive, C:\WX Advantage Radar.

What are the gauge file names in the gauges folder?

I don't understand what you are asking here. The only REX-MILVIZ Advantage WX radar file in the P3D gauges folder that I'm aware of is the MV_WX.dll mentioned above.

Do you see the MV_WX.dll file in the P3D gauges folder, e.g., at C:\P3Dv4\gauges ?

The REX-MILVIZ Advantage WX radar is defined in the dll.xml file (and reside in Modules sub directory of Prepar3D)

  <Launch.Addon>
    <Name>WXAdvantage</Name>
    <Disabled>False</Disabled>
    <Path>Modules\MV_WXM.dll</Path>
    <DllStartName>module_init</DllStartName>
    <DllStopName>module_deinit</DllStopName>
  </Launch.Addon>

What version of Prepar3D are you running ?

The wxAdvantage radar is not yet updated by REX for P3DV4.5 HF2. (you will have to wait at least 2 weeks I suppose).

and no I do not see the MV_WX.dll in the gauges folder. Nor do I have this dll.xml file  in the modules folder.

was missing the MV_WX.dll in the gauges folder! Works now! Thanks guys!

Great, glad you got it working.

Just to clarify for the future, with a typical setup:

MV_WX.dll is in the P3Dv4 gauges folder

MV_WXM.dll is in the P3Dv4 modules folder

DLL.XML is located at C:\Users\your-name\AppData\Roaming\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4
