I was just about to post on this very subject.I've often thought how the inertial cues you get while flying indicate an A/C's state of motion, and how this has been missing from previous versions of FS. Of course, short of a full motion simulator, inertial cues are not really possible, but I've found that FSX does provide some impressive inertial information. I downloaded the Weather Scapes from the library and some of the weather is so rough that the pilot bobs back and forth, and the airframe twists and turns, and it's really very lifelike.I don't think you can say that the pilot is as motionless as in previous versions. Give the Weather Scapes a look, and see for yourself.Mike.

One of the problems with that idea is that your brain and reflexes have the ability to compensate for that, to a certain degree. It's one thing to see the view from a static camera that's either mounted somewhere or being held, but the human POV is smoothed out by subtle motions of the head and eyes in an attempt to compensate. As an example, if you know of any dirt roads, try driving down one while focussing on a fixed point ahead and compare the shakiness of what you see with your own eyes with what you're seeing in that video through the camera.
