Real World Flightplans???

Featured Replies

I know that current flightplans cannot be obtained but is there anyplace to maybe get older ones? I'd like incorporate them into my flight planner for even more realism.Speaking of flight planners, I'm using FS Navigator which has served me well. Is there any other planners that you guys/gals like as much or better? Thanks

if you fly in the US, or to or from a US city, you can use flightaware.com, almost all of the flights show their flight plan. very useful when you use an aircraft with an FMCI like FSBuild for plugging in that plan, and FSNavigator for a great overview when flying

Hey thanks! I'll check it out.

I highly recommend the free version of Golden Eagle Flight Prep.Created for real world pilots, there is a freeware version availiable on their site. You can plan your route, have it do it for you, get the latest NOTAMS as pop-ups on the map, create a Flight Log and Plan in PDF form, etc.Great tool, and especially good if you have a second computer (laptop is good) that can sit next to you while you 'fly'.

After using both of the ones in the previious posts I found this site to be the best. It will import the plan into the LVD767, and also gives you enroute weather. Flightplans also include relevant SIDSTARS and links to all the charts, it's great, check it out.http://www.simroutes.com/Dave FisherCYYZP4 Prescott 3.2e 478p 800mhz 1mg CPUP4P800SE Asus Motherboard2.5 gig PC3200 DDR RAM 400MHZGeforce Ti 4200/128Maxtor 80 Gig ATA 133 HD x2WDC WD800 80 Gig HDhttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/ng_driver.jpghttp://fs2crew.com/linepilot.jpghttp://www.jdtllc.com/images/rcv4bannersupporter.jpg

>I thought simroutes was user submitted so any ding dong can>upload FP'sSimRoutes data is not directly from the FAA. The plan submissions are not open to the public, in fact there are less than 20 people who are able to enter routings in the database and we've managed to come up with about 14,000 of them. The purpose of the site was to provide quality routings to Sim Pilots who intended to fly on Vatsim, and make sure that those routings met the criteria of the administering virtual ARTCC, ACC, or FIRs. We've never wanted to be the LARGEST source of plans for Sim Pilots, only the most accurate and up to date.Again, the administration is not public, so we don't allow "any ding dong" to add or modify the routes in the database. There may be other "ding dong" sites out there, but SimRoutes is not one of them.I hope this clears up any confusion on the matter. As a side note, I have been asked similiar questions with high frequency over the past few years and in response there is a FAQ Entry on SimRoutes.com covering the issue:--------------------------------Q. Where does the SimRoutes data come from?A. The data is provided and maintained by volunteer administrators from various ARTCC, FIR, and vACC's within Vatsim. It may have been created based on FAA preferred routes, prefferred virtual traffic flows based on letters of agreement between centers, or simply based on suggestions by pilots. The Navigation data supplied is imported from the DAFIF.----------------------------------If there are other questions which need to be answered on the FAQ, please feel free to let me know and I'll gladly add them.
