            I used Simbrief to plan a flight from DFW to ABQ. The cruise altitude was FL360. I use 1800fpm @ 400kts descent profile. Is it normal to get a TOD of 86 miles for this cruise altitude?

Yes, depending on what STAR and approach you use.  ABQ is at 5355 ft, and the STAR you were given has a restriction at 10000 ft 6NM before the end of the STAR, so you are only descending to about 9000 ft or so.  I get 94.6 NM before I add the approach.

Adding the approach to RW08, it increases to 100.8NM.  The ILS FAF is at 7200 ft.
