November 14, 20196 yr Dave, I used Simbrief to plan a flight from DFW to ABQ. The cruise altitude was FL360. I use 1800fpm @ 400kts descent profile. Is it normal to get a TOD of 86 miles for this cruise altitude?
November 14, 20196 yr Commercial Member Yes, depending on what STAR and approach you use. ABQ is at 5355 ft, and the STAR you were given has a restriction at 10000 ft 6NM before the end of the STAR, so you are only descending to about 9000 ft or so. I get 94.6 NM before I add the approach. Adding the approach to RW08, it increases to 100.8NM. The ILS FAF is at 7200 ft.
