I'm thinking of picking up a couple of airports from their store. Used to own quite a few of their airports for FS9. How are these airports in terms of VAS-usage?

Thanks

They’ve been good in my experience. I have EGLL, Gatwick, and about 4 of the other larger airports and haven’t had any issues. The only thing I’ve done to a few like EGLL and Gatwick is resize some of the larger textures down to 1024x1024 DTX5/3 to save on VAS. Aside from that I can fly the PMDG 737, 777, 747 into EGLL with no OOMs and maintain around 25-30 FPS. I’m on an older rig as well and they still perform well.

@cmpbellsjc: Thanks for the info. How do you resize these textures?

There are various methods to do it. I use DXTBmp and GIMP and do it manually, but I believe there are other programs that you can use to do batch conversions faster, however I like to do mine individually so I can check each one. Just make sure to respect the Alpha channels if they have them and also be careful about using DXT1.

Make sure to take a back up of everything before you start in case you mess up.
