HDR Guidance

Recommended Posts

I tried HDR when it was first introduced in P3D but didn't care for it so I've done all of my flying without it.  I recently purchased the Aerosoft CRJ Pro and although I like the plane, the cockpit is just too dark.  I turned on HDR which allows the cockpit to look a lot better but the outside views are too bright and washed out.  My problem is that the three adjustments for HDR have no effect.  I can move the sliders from one end to the other without  anything changing.    Not sure what I'm missing, hence the requested guidance.  My system is a Win 10 64, I7-6800K and GTX 1080.

Thanks for any help with this.

HDR changes should be noticeable. Can you list your addons?  I wonder if you are using something altering your shaders.

If you use ChasePlane, that can be the trouble. CP has an option to do something with HDR.

It's probably worthwhile to mention that if you explore your CRJ Pro install folder you will find there is an additional texture set for people that don't want to use HDR.

If you're ok parting with the cash I highly recommend ENVTEX and ENVSHADE.  That software does hdr right.

In Chaseplane: Go to Preferences -> Camera -> (scroll down) HDR Override.

Enable HDR Overide should be OFF.

Problem solved thanks to jvdbol. Unchecking "Enable HDR Overide" in Chase Plane to OFF fixed it.  Really appreciate the tip.  All is good now.
