November 27, 20196 yr For some reason RXP uses the f1 e-commerce wrapper system for purchase and updates. For the latest update the entire file must be downloaded and installed from the f1 purchase page. There are two options there: One asks for the key (which I have); the other asks for a user name and a password which I also have. Sadly, the f1 server will not accept the key file. Not only that but it asks for the last four numbers of the credit card used for purchase. Not easy if you use PayPal, Nor will the f1 server accept my user name and password. It suggests contacting 'Support' to have this rectified. I spent best part of half an hour trying to find 'Support' only to discover it uses a Ticket system - Ughh! So, already (I bought the items on Nov 5, 2019) I have outdated versions of both the 530W and 430W, The cost of updates was included in the purchase price. Can I have a partial refund please? November 28, 20196 yr Hi, Our e-commerce partner is updating the entire e-commerce system with a modern approach which should facilitate both purchasing and reinstalling but it is a work in progress and it has limitations for now which prevents us from fully migrating to the new system. I'm sorry for the hurdles when installing our updates, it is normally quite smooth and easy. 7 hours ago, betelgeuse said: The cost of updates was included in the purchase price. Good news about the purchasing and reinstalling. They should have done this years ago. As for the refund, it was a rhetorical question really. But the fact is that my RXP Garmins after less than 1 month are already out of date. And, I cannot update them. Edited November 28, 20196 yr by RXP John
November 28, 20196 yr Author I get this when I start FSX. When I download the .zip and extract it, I am taken to the f1 e-commerce page, from where it is impossible to install the above update. What to do, please? Edited November 28, 20196 yr by RXP John
November 29, 20196 yr @betelgeuse I just ran the installer and reinstalled using username and password method. No problems here. Have you tried downloading the installer from the Reality XP site instead? http://reality-xp.com/index2.html#pricing Edited November 29, 20196 yr by BillS511
November 30, 20196 yr Author Thanks. I am in negotiation with f1 about my account. It seems they could not find it but now have found it. I am hoping that this will eventually allow me to update the Reality XP GNS 530. Edited December 1, 20196 yr by RXP John
December 3, 20196 yr Author Finally, this was sorted out and I now have the upgrade for the GNS 530. Thanks to all for interest and advice. John
