Hello guys,

I have been trying to get my FSX (with DX10 fixer) more stable for the time being until FS2020 shows up. 😉 And I am trying to find the issue for random c000005 crashes that happen especially when switching menus, or when an addon does something in an external module. The faulting module is random as well and depends what is currently running in the sim.

I have an uiautomationcore.dll present in my FSX directory and in general my system is very well balanced, FPS are fine, I sometimes experience OOMs after long haul flights though.

System is an AMD 8350 @ 4,4 Ghz, 16 Gigs of RAM, nvidia GTA970 4GB, Win7 64bit, running FSX Acceleration with Steves DX10 Fixer.

There really is no fix to the visual.fx crash but here is a possible fix that worked for a few -

You also need to check your Windows Defender Protection History.  It shows everything they have done to you without your knowledge.  If they prohibit a file to be installed when you installed an add-on, then your sim will crash or freeze.  You just need to allow the files.  Windows Updates have further caused a lot of agony to members who are having crashes.  Microsoft will not let you know what they did when they did not allow a file to be installed so you need to check your Protection History regularly and get those folders excluded from being scanned.  If you do not do this, expect crashes when your installation of FSX and any add-ons cannot find the files needed to run FSX.  I have excluded all of my FSX folders and folders where add-ons reside.  So far I have been successful in defeating Microsoft and bringing them to their knees as they try to ruin my enjoyment of flight simulation.
