Im looking into buying trackir but I have a few questions:

Will I experience performance drops?

Does it work with headshake?

I use track ir with xplane and love it. Much better looking around with your head movement rather than pressing buttons to change views.

And you you use it with free version of xcamera. Makes it ideal. Though I may purchase full version even though I probably wont use half teh features.

I get the impression that TrackIR works more smoothly without Xcamera, although there are fewer configuration options.
But maybe my settings in Xcamera are wrong.
