Same FPS at ground and in the air?

Featured Replies

After I had some issues with FSDT PHNL in terms of display qualtiy and with the new Milviz KingAir, so I decided to start adjusting my P3Dv4.5 HF 2 again.

What I did:

Disabled ORBX Vector (I believe I'll gain some FPS)

I use 4x SSAA in Sim instead of 4x SGSS from Nvidia Inspector (fixed the KingAir, and the TFDI)

I rebuild my Prepar3d cfg.

But now I have low FPS. I use the FSLabs for an Flight from Digital Design Liverpool to ORBX Pula.

I have around 22 FPS on Ground (which I think is ok with my settings - I use FTX England), but I also have them in the air. (I had them looked at 30 before - and I got these in the air - even with the FSLabs).

Even when I disable Active Sky, I have low FPS.

The question: Why do I have low FPS in the air now? Did I miss an setting I had before? I tried a few things (lowered settings), but always with the same result.

You might want to reset/flush your Shaders.

always done with environment force I think.

Thanks

You don't really give much info as to your software, settings, nor hardware.

You know that SSAA+HDR coupled with a hi-res cloud texture resolution can harm frame rate.  Or just SSAA alone with a high-res cloud can do that, depending on your hardware.

I find Fsdt phnl is really harsh on performance you sure this isn’t just normal?

Hello, I know it's read really unfriendly to complain about people who wants to help. But I think the most people don't read really what is written in an forum, my request is the perfect example.

I wrote that I was on an flight between Liverpool and Pula, that means the fsdt phnl is really far away and will not have any affect to the performance.

I also wrote that I had disabled active sky, which means that I have no clouds which can affect the performance. And yes, I didn't say much about my hardware, but the hardware hasn't changed. I also said that I reduced my settings, but no improvements on air.

That's why I asking, maybe there are some idea. And one guy had the same experience and found out that maybe ssaa in Sim is more worse than sgss in Nvidia inspector. Or,......

Sorry guys for being rude, but people don't read anymore really well, only fast, see some words and think they have understood everything. I had the same experience in other forums, even from developer support. And no, not only in topics I've started, in other ones too.

I can assume they didn't help you to your satisfaction in those other forums, either.   Perhaps the real problem is in the mirror.   Do as you will.

It’s not so much that I didn’t read but I didn’t understand what you meant due to how it was written, hence the question mark in my post. I apologize for trying to help you by inquiring to better understand the issue and I hope you find the solution. I would try to reset everything back to default. It sounds like you did that. You don’t mention what was “high” framerate before and it’s implied it’s the FSLabs 320 but still not 100% sure because you mention the milviz king air. This plane is also really harsh on performance on ground and the air so again could it be normal? Other variables for performance can change such as processor speed, drivers, updates, etc. So might want to look at that.

Thanks for your answer.

I had problems with the King Air and FSDT Honolulu  (and maybe other Products) visually (shimmering, ...). The King Air won't work with SGSS (like the TFDI 717). So I decided to use SSAA instead and try it. I changed everything back in Nvidia Inspector (because you can have SSAA via Prepar3d) and Prepar3d buildt an new cfg. And now my experience is the low FPS in the air. I'm happy with the 22 FPS (FSLABS + High Quality PBR Airport + ORBX FTX England) on ground, but in the air I have now the same FPS. I don't understand why, I tried a few things. In my understanding it should be better, because I don't use SGSS anymore. I didn't change anything on the Hardware, it was working before and it should work after switching. The shaders should always be deleted and rebuild by REX Environment Force as far as know. I know, it's quite difficult.

The good thing: The King Air is working with SSAA and the visuals at FSDT PHNL are a lot better.

Thanks Urmel
