Excessive haze

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

I got a 4k monitor for Xmas and it has made a massive difference to my flight sim. I had previously held off using certain programs until I got the new monitor. Yesterday I installed Tomato Shade for the first time and watched some You Tube videos on how to use it. I am using the RD preset which seems to be working OK. However, I now have an excessive amount of haze wherever I fly from. For example, if I take off from Tenerife (an Island I know very well), I can barely see any of the other Canary Islands until I am very close to them. Before Tomato shade they were visible from far. I also took off from San Diego and climbed to FL34 but the haze was so excessive, I could barely see the ground. I don't have Active Sky or REX Sky force at the moment and therefore only use the default weather. Visibility is set to unlimited. I like the haze realism but it's too much - is there a setting within TS that can tone it down?

I have searched Google and most answers I have found appear to relate to settings in Active Sky or REX which isn't applicable in my case.

Thanks in advance

You find the option in  the 'Atmosphere & Fog' tab. try lowering the haze and/or rayleigh effects

I had the same. I always had too much haze and was not able to get it working really well. I changed to envshade.
