December 31, 20196 yr I have been experiencing difficulty getting a custom .bmp file to fill my FullHD 1080 display. I have read and studied the MS SDK docs on this subject and have tried my best to understand the various parameters defined for use in the .cfg file but try as I may the first instrument panel which contains my custom .bmp never gets larger than about a half of the display area when using the 2D cockpit. I have created the .bmp as a 1024x756 72 dpi artwork, Also as 1920x1080 92dpi artwork which is more in the proportion of my 13x23.5 inch display size. I have used a variety of parameter settings and I cannot fill my display with window 000. Ironically a new Window06 on which I created a new instrument panel opens up filling the entire screen. I don't understand why Window00 resists scaling up to the entire physical area of the display. Any suggestions are appreciated. Please don't ask for images since I will NOT be relying on any "free" third party portals to send images. If anything is free, I will be the product.
December 31, 20196 yr Administrators Welcome to the AVSIM forums! Have you first tried manually stretching the 2D cockpit image to fit the screen? Put your cursor at each edge and drag it to the screen edge. Is there any particular aircraft panel that you are working on? Keep in mind that if you change the size of the panel.bmp, probably none of the screens or instruments will be in proper proportion to the new panel size. December 31, 20196 yr Window00 is a special case... suggest you use any other window instead. Also look at the following lines in your panel.cfg, they may cause what you are seeing.. [Default View] X=0 Y=0 SIZE_X=8192 SIZE_Y=2500 try [Default View] X=0 Y=0 SIZE_X=8191 SIZE_Y=3743 Bert
January 2, 20206 yr Author I have resized the windows manually but as anyone knows this becomes a headache anytime display setups are changed between flights. All that fiddling and FSX doesn't remember the display setups when restarting. I did figure out a work-around finally. Now I have Window00 which exists solely to set the basis of the gauge size and location parameters on the instruments panel. It occurred to me that it is perfectly valid to not load a .bmp file into Window00. FSX doesn't complain about that since it allows the "Mini Panel" to just display gauges against the Outside view. So I created a new Window06 to load the aircraft forward view of the cab which now overlays on top of the outside view and goes from corner to corner of my large display. I then created a Window07 for the instrument pod of the 206 which I now drag off to a second smaller LCD display. If I could eliminate that dragging of the instruments from the main display to the secondary one then that would be nice but I don't know of any way that can be saved for subsequent FSX startups. I have tested it all in real-time and it works well.
