January 2, 20206 yr When flying as the PM and having a take off config other than Flap 1+F (Flap 2, 3), the PF never calls for flaps at all. I always have to retract them to 1+F on my own, and then he'll call Flaps 0 when passing the -S speed, but it'll only happen if I put the a/c as PM in Flap 1 Config on my own.
January 2, 20206 yr Commercial Member Did you select the appropriate Takeoff Config Setting on the Departure Brief page? Did you enter the Thrust Reduction Altitude into the Brief Page/ Those are both necessary steps. Best, B. York FS2Crew Web Site / FS2Crew Facebook Page / FS2Crew Discord
January 2, 20206 yr Author Correct - both values are entered and the appropriate flap config is selected.
January 2, 20206 yr Author Additionally, the FO doesn't respond to autobrakes LOW on the landing check list, despite the value being selected in the FS2crew Menu. Only seems to respond to Medium, even though "low" is selected.
January 2, 20206 yr Commercial Member Which takeoff flap are you trying to use? Did you see "low" in the green bar? B. York FS2Crew Web Site / FS2Crew Facebook Page / FS2Crew Discord
January 2, 20206 yr Author I've used both CONFIG 2 and CONFIG 3 with the same result from the PF (no call to retract them unless I move them to Config 1 on my own, then he'll call the rest). For the autobake, yes, "low" seems to be recognized.
January 2, 20206 yr Commercial Member Looking at the code now, "low" is definitely in the grammar. Check the green bar again. He should respond with "ECAM Memo". Available phrases for the autobrake in the Landing Checkist with you as PF are: Off, Low, Medium, Maximum, Set and Checked. For your PM departure issue, does the PF call for the autopilot? B. January 2, 20206 yr Author One more thing, and this may be more of an airbus practice question. When cleaning up flaps on departure, is it customary to go straight from say Flaps 3 to Flaps 1, totally skipping flaps 2? I ask that because when I'm the PF, and I call for flaps 2 on departure, the FO doesn't respond. But when I call for flaps 1, he does respond and moves the lever accordingly. Just now seeing your recent post, and the PF does in fact call for autopilot 2 (when I'm commanding from the left). Edited January 2, 20206 yr by AntonioK
January 2, 20206 yr Commercial Member It goes 3 to 1. B. York FS2Crew Web Site / FS2Crew Facebook Page / FS2Crew Discord
January 4, 20206 yr Author Anything on the flaps issue above? As a result, the PF isn't triggering the After take off climb checklist since I have to manually do it all myself.

January 29, 20206 yr Author I was finally able to create a video. Despite not being able to hear me (for some reason), you can hear the FO, and observe how she doesn't command flap retraction ever. This only happens when the flap config is anything other than 1+F.
January 29, 20206 yr Commercial Member I think I see the problem. On the Departure Brief panel, you have to have the TO Flaps set to Config 3... Set it to Config 1 + F or Config 2. Edited January 29, 20206 yr by byork B. York FS2Crew Web Site / FS2Crew Facebook Page / FS2Crew Discord
January 29, 20206 yr Author But the performance calculator is telling me that it's a Flap 3 config. If the departure brief panel lines up with the correct flap selected on the a/c, why would that matter, out of curiosity? Flap 3 departures are real. Edited January 29, 20206 yr by AntonioK
January 29, 20206 yr Commercial Member I know, I never programmed for the FO takeoff to do a Config 3 takeoff. I just changed it in the code to allow for a Config 3 FO takeoff. It's in the next update. B. York FS2Crew Web Site / FS2Crew Facebook Page / FS2Crew Discord
