"MSG" not implemented on Q400 CDU

Featured Replies

Mark,

Last night on a flight in the Majestic Q400 I noticed the yellow "MSG" text flashing on the cockpit CDU, but not on the remote CDU. While MSG was flashing on the cockpit CDU image on the remote CDU was flashing periodically - I assume it's related.

I emailed you an image showing the "MSG" text.

Kind Regards,

Yes, that's a tricky topic.

The MSG flashes very quickly - it would require quite a bit of processing power to refresh the image with such a high frequency.

What you see now is that - depending on your tablet's performance / network speed - you will see a slower flashing effect. It could also happen, that it doesn't flash but either is visible or not - simply due to the nature of how the data is made available from P3D / FSX.

A future update may address this but for now I hope this is a minor nuisance.

Mark,

It's not a big deal.

What about anytime "MSG" is detected from P3D, make "MSG" static on the Remote CDU until the "MSG" button has been pressed to view the message - don't even try to make it flash...at least this way it would be visible for all users regardless of performance,

Kind Regards,

I agree with this proposal, it would be nice to implement "MSG" display that way 🙂
