GSX Opens in Trial Mode

Featured Replies

I have used GSX with Level 2 Expansion successfully for a few years. Since last week's Live Update, when I then start P3Dv4.5,GSX and GSX Level 2 Expansion both open in Trial Mode only. I then have to re-register both programs with my serial numer and they then work as normal. However when I next open P3Dv4.5 both programs open again in Trial Mode.

Virtuali say I have a virus program problem and that I should place the whole of the Add-On Manager folder in my virus program Exclude list. I use McAfee Total Protection and it appears that I cannot add a folder to the Exclude list, but only add individual files. There are several hundred individual files in the Add-On Manager program. Do I really have to add each file individually? Frankly it's easier to just re-register.

Any help much appreciated.  😎

Well, I do not use McAfee, and never had such a problem with GSX, but I had in the past a antivirus issue with another addon (namely RealityXP GPS module with Avira antivirus).

Look in the quarantaine folder (or quarantaine/detection log file if there is such thing) of your antivirus program to see which GSX files are blocked by the antivirus. It should then be enough to only exclude these files (that's how it worked for me with RXP and Avira, only one file had to be excluded).

Hope this helps, good lucki

cheers

Thanks, but I looked in the quarantine 'drawer' and the only file quarantined was <ftxc2_localdata.zip>, but this was in C:>Microsoft Games> Microsoft Flight Simulator X> ORBX> Scripts so don't think it relevant (I admit I could be wrong). I did try excluding this file but it made no difference.

try to disable gsx completely.... even if that means, re-installing it from start.
Then, install and activate FIRST gsx2 .... and second gsx1.

After completely reinstalling Windows and P3D4.5, I installed GSX + Level2 but mistakenly activated GSX and the Level2 extension with the same serial number from GSX. Everything looked exactly the same - after restarting the simulator, GSX switched to Trial mode.

After that, I carefully examined the purchase orders on Simmarket and found that GSX Level2 has its own serial number. After activation by different numbers separately GSX and Level2 everything worked correctly. So, make sure that you entered TWO different serial numbers when activating.
