February 19, 20206 yr Despite reading the explanation in the RXP manual, what the Engage Autopilot APPR setting does is not clear to me. Does this have something to do with the GTN automatically switching from GPS to VLOC when approaching a tuned in Localizer? The RXP manual indicates the default setting for this is 'Enabled'. And what entry in the RealityXP.GTN ini file corresponds to this setting? I don't see anything in the ini file with a similar 'name'. Thx, Al Edited February 19, 20206 yr by ark
February 19, 20206 yr Are you mistaking switching from GPS lnav to Appr when approaching a localizer. If so, it's an option in the Settings interface.

I think the setting option you are referring to is called Transition to Approach, not the Engage Autopilot APPR setting I'm asking about. Al
February 19, 20206 yr Author Regarding the above, Transition to Approach is an Enroute VNAV to approach vertical segment setting which I believe is different than 'auto' GPS to VLOC switching.

The RXP manual also says: automatically arm the autopilot approach mode when the A/P APR Outputs are active. This is not a GNS device feature but a Reality XP option added for convenience. Can't be more specific?!? @Adrian123 is correct: It is a convenience setting related to the autopilot only, 8 hours ago, ark said: Does this have something to do with the GTN automatically switching from GPS to VLOC when approaching a tuned in Localizer? This, is a GTN option though, in the GTN itself. hint: the setting description just above (V-Flag Declutter) mentions it. NB: I realize there is an error in the manual which is referring to the GNS page where you can find the setting. It'll be corrected in the next update.
