majestic 400. How is it able to have such high performance?

Featured Replies

This is not a simple aircraft.  But the performance impact on my computer is next to nothing.  Significantly better than PMDG or FSLabs.  How is it able to do this?

5800X3D, 4090FE, 64GB DDR4 3600C16, Gigabyte X570S MB, EVO 970 M.2's, Alienware 3821DW  and 2  22" monitors, Corsair RM1000x PSU,  360MM MSI MEG, MFG Crosswind, T16000M Stick, Boeing TCA Yoke/Throttle, Skalarki MCDU and FCU, Logitech Radio Panel/Switch Panel, Spad.Next

I think from what I heard and read is that it runs “outside” of the sim...not really sure what that means but it’s what I read..I’m not a techy computer guru so this could be false.

 Intel I7 12700KF / 32 GB Ram-3600mhz / Windows 11 - 64 bit / NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060TI / 32" Acer Monitor, Honeycomb alpha/bravo, CH rudder pedals, Tobii 5, Buttkicker, Logitech radio panel.

you would think the others would have or would proceed with the same approach?

It's because it is made by a company which developed it for real-world training as well as use in entertainment flight sims (i.e. the super-duper version models the FMC engineer codes and the circuit breakers etc) and to do that they had to go outside the sim with a lot of the systems simulation. They are not the only ones to have done that, but when others have done so, it generally has been on more complex aeroplanes, i.e. when FSLabs made their A320, which effectively has many different flight models to cover all of the different FBW malarkey and redundant systems the A320 has under the hood.

In this respect, the Dash 8 is a far simpler aeroplane to have a stab at than an A320. None of this takes away from the fact that the Majestic Dash 8 is undeniably the most realistic airliner you can get for a home flight sim. It's a remarkable piece of work, especially for the price, and anyone who does not have it is missing out on a real treat.
