March 22, 20206 yr Hi there! I really love FS2Crew NGX/NGXu! Since I changed my airline to Ryanair I've been using SOP3 procedures and have some doubts and questions: #1 Quote After the FO calls “FLAPS UP NO LIGHTS” and when cleared to a Flight Level, press the STD button on the Capt’s EFIS panel and speak: “SET STANDARD. PASSING XXX CLIMBING FLIGHT LEVEL XXX SET”. Note: The key phrase is “FLIGHT LEVEL XXX SET”. ▪ The FO does not say anything in response, unless he needs to complete the AFTER TAKEOFF checklist. ▪ Call for the After Takeoff Checklist. ▪ The FO will start his AFTER TAKEOFF PROCEDURE right after you call for the AFTER TAKEOFF CHECKLIST. I follow exactly the instructions but FO speaks AFTER TAKEOFF CHECKLIST: "FO: After takeoff checklist - Air conditioning and pressurisation... SET ALTIMETERS!" ... "CPT: Flight level 380 set" ... "FO: Flight level 380 checked - after takeoff checklist complete". instead of continuing AFTER TAKEOFF CHECKLIST. How to do it correctly? I use key phrase (Flight level XXX set). #2 When should we call after takeoff checklist when we have high transition altitude (eg. 10000') and we are approved to change to FL quite late? Should we wait with checklist until setting altimeters to standard or it doesn't matter here? Cheers! Adrian
March 23, 20206 yr Commercial Member Hi Adrian I'm really not sure what the issue is with #1: According the SOP 3 manual on Page 22, Autobrake, Switches, Flaps and Landing Gear are read silently by the FO. Maybe you were expecting those items not be silent? Be sure to only use the published FS2Crew manual; don't use any 3rd party cheat sheets - sometimes they miss stuff. Maybe you missed the phrase for the Altimeters challenge:Note: For the ALTIMETERS challenge, the trigger phrase is: “PASSING XXXX, CLIMBING FLIGHT LEVEL XXXX SET”, where XXXX is the altitude set in the MCP. You can also say, for example: “CLIMBING 9000 SET”. If you get stuck, just say “SET AND CHECKED”. for #2: You don't need to wait until passing the Transition Altitude. From the page, on page 22:If you have not yet been cleared to a Flight Level by ATC (and accordingly your MCP Altitude setting is below the Transition Altitude as entered in the FMC), the FO will say “HOLDING AT ALTIMETERS”. March 23, 20206 yr Author Thank you Byork! I probably didn’t notice that „Autobrake, Switches, Flaps and Landing Gear are read silently by the FO” - however did read FS2Crew manual. But now everything is clear for me :) Have a great day! Adrian
